“The Origin: Madam Koi Koi” is a 2023 Nigerian horror TV series that premiered on Netflix on October 31, 2023. The series is based on a real African folktale about a vengeful spirit called Madam Koi Koi, who haunts the halls of boarding schools and dormitories in the dead of night.
The story follows Amanda, a young girl who reluctantly joins a new boarding school with a grim history of sexual violence. Soon after taking her place alongside her fellow students, Amanda starts to suffer from ominous nightmares and realizes that Madam Koi Koi stalks the halls of the school.
The series has two parts, with the second instalment titled “Spirit of Vengeance” set to arrive on November 7, 2023.
Synopsis: A vengeful spirit stalks an isolated college, drawn by the school’s grim history of sexual violence and one student’s mysterious ties to the past.
