Mr Eazi returns with a five-track EP tagged “Something Else” reaping the rewards of the entrepreneurial seeds he’s sown.
Something Else continues a pioneering blend of Banku music and dancehall, dripping in his trademark languid vocals.
Meanwhile, Eazi isn’t shy to experiment with broody trap on “The Don” alongside Benin City producer Killertunes and Jos singer E Kelly, both from his emPawa stable.
An Afrobeats call to the dance floor (“Saudi Arabia”) and a laid-back ballad (“Love For You”) shows Eazi acknowledging his roots, while the tropical house-tinged “Cherry” features Kenyan-born neo-soul singer Xenia Manasseh, another emPawa artist.
