Underworld Awakening is a 2012 American action horror film directed by Måns Mårlind and Björn Stein which is the sequel to Underworld Evolution (2006). It is the fourth instalment in the Underworld franchise, with Kate Beckinsale reprising her role as Selene, joined by Theo James, Michael Ealy, and India Eisley.
However, filming began in March 2011 in Vancouver, British Columbia and the film was released in Digital 3D, IMAX 3D and 2D theatres on January 20, 2012 and grossed $160 million worldwide. It was followed by Underworld: Blood Wars in 2016.
Synopsis: When human forces discover the existence of the Vampire and Lycan clans, a war to eradicate both species commences. The vampire warrior Selene leads the battle against humankind.
